If you guessed this article is about spelling and grammar in Blogs, you would be correct. There have been many blogs that have caught my attention and it appears the authors have provided a great deal of good info. The problem is getting past the poor spelling and grammar. Unfortunately, those articles became so tedious to read, I had to click elsewhere.
One extremely simple solution to avoid losing readers in this fashion is to use spell check in your word processor program. You can also go online to a couple of my favorite websites, http://dictionary.reference.com/ AND THESAURUS.COM. The Thesaurus.com link will take you to the same page as the dictionary.reference.com link and you will find many other useful tools as well.
In addition to those resources listed above, on my desk next to my laptop, you will find WEBSTERS' NEW WORLD-ROGET'S A-Z THESAURUS paperback edition and ROGET'S INTERNATIONAL THESAURUS in hard back.
Even with all the tools listed above in our arsenal, there is no doubt that we will still make some grammatical and spelling mistakes. That's OK, if we hold them to a minimum, so that people can enjoy and interpret the valuable information that we wish to impart.

| DUH, WHERE YOU ARE? |
For anyone thinking that this article is referring to text shorthand such as lol or omg, that is not the case. This is just about poor spelling and horrific grammar. Before we proceed any farther, I would like to modify my statements about using good grammar and point out that, any English Professor could PICK APART this article.
That's OK if you really want to get technical about it.
If this blog helps just one person, it is worth my time and yours.
For those out there who use ENGLISH as a second language and wish to use it as a tool for their writing, go to http://dictionary.reference.com/ . There you will find a free Translator that you can type in your text in one language and it will emerge in the language you prefer.
I can already hear some of you moaning that Translator Programs have problems with sentence structure. Well, the only other option is to have someone fluent in ENGLISH proof read your manuscripts or pick up some ENGLISH LANGUAGE study books.
For those of you who can afford it, try ROSETTA STONE, http://www.rosettastone.com/ . I have a copy and it is worth having. It teaches your selected language in a more natural manner, just as you learned how to speak as a child. If nothing else, check it out for future reference.
FOR SOME REFERENCE MATERIAL.... Check out some of
Zubair Ahmed's Blogs on writing. He has a lot of good ideas about making money with your blogs as well. See what he has to offer with (What is the best free Word Processor) and (What is a Keyword and how to select them) .
I came across a really nifty WORD PROCESSOR PROGRAM that is absolutely FREE, and it is AbiWord. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that OpenOffice.org has, which I have as well, and it is FREE. Click on the AbiWord link above and it will take you to cnet.com's information and FREE download page.
AbiWord is what I use, because it is a very simple to use program, for my blogging. It is similar to Microsoft's Word and is easy to navigate.
If you prefer, OpenOffice is a very powerful FREE Word Processor, which you can read more about on Zubair's -What is the best free Word Processor article.
I came across a video recently about a new program, (After the Deadline) , that checks your grammar as well as spelling. I tried it and was very satisfied except for one minor glitch. It offered a plural noun for one that can only be singular. Other than that, it was easy to use and a lot of fun to play with. Use the link above to download it. The program is free, so see what you think. If anyone would like to leave a comment with their experience using this program, please feel free to do so.

How to Write a Powerful Marketing Plan
By Michael Fleischner | Marketing Expert, Internet Marketing Secrets*If you're thinking about developing a marketing program, you need to begin with a marketing plan. Having been in marketing for more than a decade, I have seen my share of marketing plans. Some are short and to the point, others are hundreds of pages thick and cost thousands of dollars to produce.
The irony is that many of the expensive marketing plans end up on a shelf and rarely get implemented. The simple plans, if researched and implemented effectively, have the greatest impact.
Regardless of the scope of your marketing plan, you must keep in mind that it is a fluid document. Every business needs to begin with a well structured plan that is based on thorough research, competitive positioning and attainable outcomes. Your plan should be the basis for your activities over the coming months. However, you should always be willing to enhance or redirect your plan based on what proves successful.
Marketing Plan Basics
1. Market Research Collect, organize, and write down data about the market that is currently buying the product(s) or service(s) you will sell. Some areas to consider:
- Market dynamics, patterns including seasonality
- Customers - demographics, market segment, target markets, needs, buying decisions
- Product - what's out there now, what's the competition offering
- Current sales in the industry
- Benchmarks in the industry
- Suppliers - vendors that you will need to rely on
3. Product Describe your product. How does your product relate to the market? What does your market need, what do they currently use, what do they need above and beyond current use?
4. Competition Describe your competition. Develop your "unique selling proposition." What makes you stand apart from your competition? What is your competition doing about branding?
5. Mission Statement Write a few sentences that state:
- Key market - who you're selling to
- Contribution - what you're selling
- Distinction - your unique selling proposition
- Networking - go where your market is
- Direct marketing - sales letters, brochures, flyers
- Advertising - print media, directories
- Training programs - to increase awareness
- Write articles, give advice, become known as an expert
- Direct/personal selling
- Publicity/press releases
- Trade shows
- Web site
8. Budget Budget your dollars. What strategies can you afford? What can you do in house, what do you need to outsource.
9. Marketing Goals Establish quantifiable marketing goals. This means goals that you can turn into numbers. For instance, your goals might be to gain at least 30 new clients or to sell 10 products per week, or to increase your income by 30% this year. Your goals might include sales, profits, or customer's satisfaction.
10. Monitor Your Results Test and analyze. Identify the strategies that are working.
- Survey customers
- Track sales, leads, visitors to your web site, percent of sales to impressions
As mentioned earlier in this article, be sure to use your plan as a living document. Successful marketers continually review the status of their campaigns against their set objectives. This ensures ongoing improvements to your marketing initiatives and helps with future planning.
